United in Efforts for Earth Hour

Since 2008, Seraya Energy – together with its parent company YTL PowerSeraya – has been observing Earth Hour by turning off non-essential lights in its office premises during lunch-time and encouraging its customers to pledge the same. This year, to mark the company’s 10th year efforts in this initiative, Seraya Energy took a further step by inviting customers to participate in a contest to test their knowledge on climate change.

Three customers who had all correct entries to the questions walked away with a portable multi-function LED desktop lamp with an eye protection feature, sponsored by Seraya Energy.

This year also marked the first time that the company’s adopted charity, GROW (Goodwill, Rehabilitation and Occupational Workshop), joined in the Earth Hour effort. The sheltered workshop under the Cerebral Palsy Alliance Singapore joined Seraya Energy’s customers, who had voluntarily pledged to turn off non-essential lights either on behalf of their company or in their work areas. This initiative took place on the Friday before the actual Earth Hour initiative which falls on Saturday 25 March 2017.
