Living the Vision

- Note by Chan Swee Huat, CEO of YTL PowerSeraya

1_copyEver-changing conditions wrought with uncertainties in today’s business environment demands one to possess the foresight and flexibility to respond quickly to changes. To this end, YTL PowerSeraya continues to move forward in the course it has set to strengthen its position as an integrated energy player based in Singapore. With a changing business landscape where electricity supply is expected to outstrip demand for at least the next three to four years, the company is leveraging on its integrated capabilities and will focus on expanding its unregulated business (steam, oil trading and leasing) to strengthen its revenue base. As competition intensifies, our retail arm Seraya Energy is also geared towards finding ways to offer flexible value-added services to you – our customers.

We believe success in YTL PowerSeraya is also built upon a focus on integrating sustainability into our operations. Achieving energy efficiency continues to be key – be it through constant improvements in our operations or playing an active role in educating customers and the wider community on the topic.

Since October 2013, it has been an honour for me to have taken over the helm of the company as CEO from John Ng. John has successfully led YTL PowerSeraya, growing alongside our parent company YTL Power International Berhad, to strengthen our business capabilities and further enhance our customer value. It is my utmost duty to now strengthen our competitive advantage and take the company to the next level of growth.

Staying true to our core spirit of customer focus, we look forward to 2014 in anticipation of consistent progress in helping you manage your energy consumption to enable your company’s success. It is truly a privilege to have you onboard as our valued customer and on behalf of the team at YTL PowerSeraya, I wish you a happy and successful 2014.

Yours truly,
Chan Swee Huat
